Do you miss work a lot? A new study shows that it might be related to how many hours of sleep you get per night!
A study from researchers in Finland analyzed the sleep habits of almost 4000 men and women over the course of seven years. Ages ranged from 30 to 64. They discovered that the number of sick days you take is related to the hours of sleep your get per night. Not surprisingly, employees that get less than 5 hours of sleep tend to take more sick days than those who get 7-8 hours of sleep.
On the other side of the scale, workers who get too much sleep also tend to miss more work! We’re talking about 10+ hours of sleep.
The “optimum” amount of sleep where workers take the least amount of days off is were women who slept an average of 7 hours 38 minutes a night and men who slept an average of 7:46.
